Already 2-0 up against Shamrock Rovers thanks to Weimann and Benteke. Looking good our possible first eleven for the coming season.

Villa will face Rotherham United at home in the second round of the League Cup.

25 min played in our last friendly, a home match against Malaga, and the score is 2-0. Goals scored by Benteke and Vlaar.

Penalty and we are 3-0 up. Benteke did it again.

We played the usual 4-2-3-1 that was played during most of the pre-season matches. It was a good game during the first half, then it cooled down a bit. Tonev, Okore and Benteke were really up to it. Luna and Vlaar were good going forward but a bit sloppy at the back. The rest put in a solid performance. Overall it is nice to end PS on a high and I am really looking forward to the game v Arsenal next WE.

Finally, the season kicks off. Arsenal away isn't the easiest of all games but with their injuries Arsenal aren't at their best right now. I am really optimistic, going for a 3-2 win but I would happily take a draw as well.
